M&G Real Estate (M&G), a company focused on value-added opportunities, has acquired a 25.3% stake in the prestigious Conrad Seoul Hotel in South Korea for US$37.5 million (S$50.2 million). This purchase brings M&G’s total assets under management in South Korea to a significant US$3 billion.

Daniel Cho, the head of Korea at M&G Real Estate, emphasizes the potential of value-add strategies in repositioning existing buildings and upgrading assets to achieve greater returns.
The hospitality sector in Seoul is expected to see a revenue of almost US$10 billion by 2029. Cho further explains that M&G’s expertise in identifying assets that can be “future-proofed” will drive long-term value for investors.
In addition to the acquisition of the Conrad Seoul Hotel, M&G has also expanded its global real estate platform with the inclusion of BauMont Real Estate Capital in Europe. This has allowed the company to offer investors more opportunities in diverse sectors and regions, combining its proven track record with enhanced capabilities in Europe.
