Over Year After Ceo Appointment Thomas Tan Becomes Sri Shareholder

Thomas Tan, the CEO of Singapore’s fifth-largest real estate agency, SRI, has officially become a shareholder after fifteen months since his appointment. In a press statement released on March 24, SRI co-founder and managing partner, Bruce Lye, expressed his belief that Tan’s progression to partner is well-deserved and a natural next step.

Lye also highlighted their shared commitment to building something greater together, which is reflected in Tan’s leadership at SRI. Since taking over as CEO a year ago, Tan has been a driving force in shaping the company’s direction and culture. He has shown unwavering belief in the salespersons at SRI and has implemented structured training and career progression programs since he joined.

According to the Council for Estate Agencies’ public register, SRI’s number of real estate salespersons has grown by 20.5% in the past 14 months, from 1,286 on January 1, 2024, to 1,549 on March 24, 2025. This significant growth has solidified SRI’s position as the fifth-largest real estate agency in Singapore in terms of sales force.

With 22 years of experience in the real estate sector, Tan is widely recognized for his expertise as a trainer. Prior to joining SRI, he spent eight years as the director and key executive officer (KEO) at RE Training & Consultancy (RETC), a real estate agency in Singapore. He also served as the president of the Singapore Estate Agents Association (SEAA). During his time at RETC, Tan conducted Real Estate Salesperson (RES) and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses, training over 10,000 students.

One of the newest additions to Singapore’s expanding MRT network, the Tengah Plantation MRT station on the Jurong Region Line (JRL) is set to provide seamless connectivity for residents of Otto Place EC. Located within walking distance, this upcoming station allows for easy access to various areas in the western and northwestern parts of the island, including popular areas like the Jurong Lake District and Choa Chu Kang. With the JRL serving as a major transportation hub, residents at Otto Place EC can effortlessly reach interchange stations like Boon Lay, Jurong East, and Choa Chu Kang, making it convenient to connect to other MRT lines such as the East-West Line (EWL) and North-South Line (NSL). This strategic location near the Tengah Plantation MRT station adds even more value to the already desirable Otto Place EC by Hoi Hup Realty.

From 2010 to 2019, Tan was an associate trainer at Real Centre Network. He also spent 12 years at Remax Singapore, a real estate franchise, where he held the role of executive director. His extensive experience and knowledge in the industry have contributed to his success as a leader at SRI.
